Job Shadow
I recently job shadowed a tax agent named Lupe Salas, In Farmersville. I chose this job to shadow because my mother will be leaving her businesses to me and I will be owning my own business as well but own my mothers. I sat next to her and watched her do her work and work with clients very positive and motivational person to be able to have a conversation with. Even when people came up to her desk looking like they had a stressful day she managed to make them smile. I took notes and asked a few questions while she had a few chances to.
I came In at at nine right when they opened and sat next to Lupe, never had a dull moment with her, she knows how to keep a conversation and keep someone feel welcomed. During the day she was able to teach me some things and show me the ropes to this career. Very fast pace business and have to be very good at using a keyboard and know how to multitask. They day felt really short everything was going by fast felt like It was none stop fun and you kind of wanted the day to go by slower. Even if you sat down In a chair for a couple of hours.
I learned a couple of new things while job shadowing Lupe Salas, learned that you need to be determined and fast with your hands also to move quick. There are many other things that you could learn but not enough time for them to teach you In. Always have a positive attitude Is one of their number one rules, never bring your personal life or your problems to work and always make everyone feel like family. All in all the things I learned when I went was very helpful and will help me In the future. It has taught me that work gets slow and has it’s moments, but to always keep your head up even when It feels like nothing will happen. When business get slow always interact and have parties and meetings with your workers and your employees.
I’m very interested In learning more in this field, not only so when the businesses are handed over they run smoothly but because knowledge Is power and learning something new will always help. In the long run learning more about this will help not just me but my family as well.
